Please find attached a leaflet relating to a new programme available in the school for parents and/or any adults in the community who would like to take part.
It is called the Maths Made Simple Programme in conjunction with Stranmillis University. The programme is free but we need at least 15 participants to be able to run the programme in the school.
It is designed for adults who do not have GCSE maths or want to refresh their maths skills. It’s simple, practical and tailored to help you confidently support your child’s learning and your use of everyday maths. You’ll learn the skills you need to help with: Applying maths skills to everyday life using basic maths concepts Understanding how maths is being taught in school Helping you and your child feel more confident and relaxed about maths No jargon. No pressure. No complicated formulas. Just clear, easy-to-follow lessons and tips that will give you the confidence to handle numbers in your daily life.
Shirley King will be the facilitator for the workshop.
There are three sessions on 23rd January, 30th January and 6th February from 3-5pm. There will be free resources and refreshments for everyone who attends. Please let your friends and family know as it is open to any adult in the community.
