I’M A P7 GET ME OUT OF HERE!
What a fabulous send off for our wonderful P7 class!
A huge thanks to Liz Farnan who organised ‘I’m a P7 get me out of here’ fun filled activity day. Split into a girls and boys team there were lots of challenges and opportunities to win gold stars and be crowned queen or king of the jungle. A nightline was the first challenge. Both groups followed a guide rope while blindfolded. Lots of cooperation and communication was needed in order to lead us safely to base camp with both teams earning their first gold star. Each team member earned a wiggly worm or snake jelly sweet.
Challenge 2 required the teams to leave base camp and search the jungle for the dinosaur egg (watermelon). This was found by the boys team and was cut and eaten for the morning break. For the 3rd challenge the teams were once again sent into the jungle to find the Viking Runes and crack the code. The girls team were victorious this time winning a gold star. The teams now had an equal number of stars. The last challenge required the teams to go into the jungle with a leaf treasure sheet and bring back to base camp an example of each leaf. The girls were able to find more leaves winning another gold star. Lauren was crowned queen of the jungle.
Wood was gathered, the campfire was lit and the marshmallows were toasted while watching the lovely, emotional messages from their families.
It was time to head back for lunch. Thanks to the parents who sent donuts and drinks for everyone to enjoy. Chocolate cake was also munched in celebration of Seamus’ birthday. After lunch, there was time to play in the park before completing the last challenge of the day - The Bamboo Puzzles Challenge. A happy but tired bunch of kids headed back to school. A fun day was had!
