Dave Wiggins from Sustrans came along to assembly this morning and spoke to the boys and girls about what Sustrans is and about how they aim to get schools involved with healthy journeys to school such as walking, cycling or even scooting to school.
Dave also spoke about how if we make healthy and active journeys to school it also helps the environment as there will be less fumes in the air, helps keep us fit and healthy as we are getting exercise, saves families money as they are using less fuel in their cars, makes the roads and entrance to schools safer as there are less cars and finally being active keeps our mind healthy too.
He talked about Children's Mental Health week which is taking place this week and the importance of keeping our mind healthy too. Dave then visited P3-6 for individual class sessions on children's mental health.
