Assembly with Rev. Elizabeth

14th Jun 2024

This morning we had three guests at assembly, Harry Lockhart the Cricket Coach, Aisling Gibson from the Cancer Fund for Children and the Reverend Elizabeth. Reverend Elizabeth  spoke to the children about how we all follow rules in our lives and used sports like cricket and football as an example. She then matched this up with the Ten Commandments using a creative technique of adding different markings to the numbers to ten to create an image related to the commandment or rule. The children thoroughly enjoyed this and eagerly answered each time.

Aisling Gibson arrived to receive a cheque for £240 which the school raised during the recent ‘hats and shades’ day for Daisy Lodge. Aisling explained to the children all the different types of things Daisy Lodge could now do with the money in order to treat the sick children and their families. She was extremely grateful for our kind donation to the charity.

Harry came in today as the children all received their Smash It gear and to let the boys and girls know he will be choosing a Cricket Star to receive an award in next weeks awards ceremony.

We had a busy assembly as the children from our football and netball teams then had to rush out to a tournament in Kilkeel. They were back before home time and played extremely well in the football and netball matches. We are super proud of their achievements this year.

Congratulations also to our fabulous pupils of the week who excelled in every area. A photograph will follow next week.
