Please see videos in today’s folder for the introduction of the ‘oa’ sound.
Note, we start each lowercase letter at the base with a whoosh and finish with a flick.
o starts with a whoosh up to the top, back round, then a little flick from the top which joins to a.
Suggested practical activities:

• Writing the letters o and a with chalk repeating the sound ‘oa’
• Rainbow write- writing the letters o and a repeatedly over each other with different colours saying ‘oa’ each time we finish.
• Making o and a by placing objects eg buttons in an o shape. Repeating the ‘oa’ sound each time they place an object.
