Please see videos in today’s folder for the introduction of the ‘o’ sound.
Note, we start each lowercase letter at the base with a whoosh and finish with a flick.
o starts with a whoosh up to the top, back round, then a little flick from the top.
Suggested practical activities:
• Making the letter o with play dough, repeating the sound ‘o’
• Writing the letter o with chalk repeating the sound ‘o’
• Rainbow write- writing the letter o repeatedly over each other with different colours saying ‘o’ each time we finish an o.
• Making an o by placing objects eg buttons in an o shape. Repeating the ‘o’ sound each time they place an object.
• Spreading shaving foam on cling film or wipe clean surface. Using index finger to write the letter o making the ‘o’ sound each time.
