Welcome to our Primary One and Two Page!

In Primary One and Two, we work on Literacy and Language; building our phonological awareness, beginning to read, and starting to form letters and words. In Literacy, we begin to develop a love of reading by exploring stories such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Owl Babies, Farmer Duck, Little Red Hen and Handa’s Surprise. During Numeracy, we use lots of practical apparatus and develop our organisation skills along with beginning to problem solve. We begin to build a knowledge of place value through counting, adding, and subtracting.

Through 'World around Us' topics we begin to develop an understanding of ourselves and the world we live in. This year we will study the topics All about me, Nocturnal Animals, Spring has Sprung, Farming, Amazing Animals and Fun in the Sun.
